Throughout section 9, there were a few similes, and metaphors that I came across. As I was deciding as to which one I wanted to choose, I realized that there was really no wrong choice. I happen to choose from section 9, chapter 131, where Madame said “Tell your uncle that the hour has come. That the mermaids have bleached hair.” The importance of this saying is that Madame is telling Marie that they will be rescued soon, and that things will be alright. This is some good news, bitter sweet just because the whole situation is still bad, but good that there is some good things to possibly come.
